God reveals Himself to us in the Bible

God has not left man on his own to create an understanding of God. He inspired various men at various times and places to record who He is, and what He has done to save His people from the destructive selfishness of sin that causes pain and suffering in the world that is His creation. He has revealed Himself as Three Persons in One Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28: 19; 2 Corinthians 13: 14). It is the Holy Spirit who inspired each of the authors of the Bible to record how we can know God and how He interacts with His creation purely and without error. God’s most vivid expression of this clarity in His revelation and clear love to humanity, made in His image (Genesis 1: 27), is seen in Jesus, God the Son, sent by God the Father to take on a human nature in fullness of time (John 1: 1, 14; Titus 2: 15; Galatians 4: 4; 1 John 5: 20).

God redeems us through Jesus Christ

The purpose of God the Son adding a human nature to eternal and divine nature, was to leave the Glory of heaven and come into the fallen world as a man, to redeem man from the all of the wages of sin, including death (Romans 6: 20-23). Jesus obeyed the Law of God, summarized in the 10 commandments, as a man for the only time in history (Hebrews 7: 26). He didn’t have to die for any sins of His own, having none, but He was willing to die on the Cross for the guilt of our sins (Philippians 2: 8; 2 Corinthians 5: 21). The Bible clearly reveals that salvation, the redemption from all of the guilt of sin for each Christian is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2: 8-9). Jesus is righteous and we are not, therefore we can only have a loving relationship with God by believing in Jesus and living for His glory and not our own. No man or woman deserves to be loved by God. God chooses to love each of His saved children purely because He chooses to do so. This is the Biblical understanding of the true and simple Gospel.
